Bicycle Trails

around Hooks Herrgård

With Hooks Herrgård as a starting point, there are almost endless opportunities for nature-close cycling routes on both gravel and paved roads. Calm small roads, with little traffic and gently rolling through the landscape, provide great opportunities for both relaxation and hard training. Road cyclists, experienced as well as beginners, can return to the manor for a well-deserved dinner or a restorative moment in the spa.

The gravel roads in nearby areas are something beyond the ordinary for those who want to veer off the asphalt. Whether you're on a gravel bike or a mountain bike, the forest and the nearby lakes Fängen and Lyngemadssjön with their natural areas are definitely worth their cycling miles. For the MTB enthusiast, it's not far to Värnamo or Jönköping's many mountain bike trails.

Hooks Herrgård invites you to delightful cycling experiences in beautiful Småland forest environment right outside the door. Bringing your bike to Hook is just as obvious as bringing your golf clubs. Set out on your own, inspired by our route suggestions from Cycling Jönköping.

Places to stop at:

Lyngemadssjön Nature Reserve; around Lyngemadssjön you can experience varied nature with centuries-old forest, rocky cliffs, marshland, and unusual birds and plants. Cycling around Hokasjön or visiting Lake Fängen are also gems in the area.

For coffee-craving cyclists, there are several options; Leva Café & Hemma (from the end of April onwards), Byarums Hembygdsgård (summer time), and Ritz Konditori in Vaggeryd. Or a longer trip to Rosettens Konditori in Taberg.

During longer (and tougher) cycling trips, you can aim for Tomtabacken to the west (Småland's highest point), Tabergs top (northwest), or the classic Klevaliden in Huskvarna.

Cycling is about experiences, training, food, and relaxation, so whether you are preparing for Vätternrundan or want to find peace with a nature-close cycling trip, Hooks Herrgård is a perfect starting point.

Road 70k - Bonnarundan

Here you will become acquainted with classic roads for the area's road cyclists. Most likely, you will meet other cyclists from Jönköping and Vaggeryd along the way. The landscape varies between open agricultural land and lush forests. The roads rise and fall, and cars are few and far between. If you have room for more time in the saddle, it is recommended to extend the loop over Bratteborgsgård. In the summer, a coffee break at the local heritage association in Byarum is recommended, a magical cake buffet in a traditional way. Alternatively, the detour furthest north on the route, to Rosetten in Taberg is worth a few extra kilometers.
