Lyngemadssjön
Around Lyngemadssjön, you can experience exciting and very varied nature with centuries-old forests, cliffs, marshland, and a cave. The environment in the reserve provides many rare birds, mosses, and lichens the opportunity to thrive here. If you're really lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the otter in Hästgångsån. Nature Reserve Hatten
The nature reserve Hatten is located just east of Svenarum in Sävsjö and Vaggeryd municipalities, 20 km south of Hooks Herrgård. The old coniferous forest with elements of deciduous trees and abundant dead wood has created conditions for many unusual and rare species of mosses and lichens to thrive in Hatten. Examples of species found include long-fringed moss, cat's foot lichen, yarn lichen, lung lichen, green shield moss, and wood stair moss. Here you can also see and hear the forest hens, capercaillie, black grouse, and hazel grouse. Hatten is a relatively well-visited area. Vrigstad Värdshus organizes, in collaboration with the hunting team, elk safaris in the area. For this purpose, there are prepared and maintained hiking trails. Möbelriket
Sonarps Interiör is located just a couple of kilometers from Hooks Herrgård. In the county, you can find Swedese Möbler, Kinnarps, Byarums Bruk In Värnamo you can study Bruno Mathsson's works, and if you want to visit Svenssons i Lammhult and Norrgavel, it's about 70 km from Hooks Herrgård.
The Match Museum
In Jönköping, you will find the world's only match museum, housed in a beautiful wooden building from 1848 that was the first match factory in the city. Join an exciting journey from tree to finished match. The museum tells the vibrant history of matches. You will meet both people and machines that built the match industry and developed it into a global enterprise. Here you will find a match worker's residence, an exciting film, and thousands of boxes and labels. In the museum shop, you can browse among boxes, labels, and much more.
Jönköping County Museum
Experience art and cultural history at Jönköping County Museum. Here there is a wonderful mix of John Bauer's fairy tale art, Småland cultural history, as well as Paulis and Ganneviks collections of Swedish 20th-century art. The children can, of course, have fun at the museum, especially in the open workshop where there is an opportunity to create freely or solve ready-made workshop tasks. A playhouse for all children is located in Jönköping. Once you have paid the entrance fee, children can play as much as they want. At Leos Lekland, there are different types of slides, some with a ride board, while others land in the ball pit. Gränna & Visingsö
On Visingsö there are many remains from the Stone Age and onward. During the Middle Ages, the Swedish kings ruled from their castle on the southern tip, and in the 1600s the island became the center of the Brahe County, which extended on both sides of the lake. Today, you can enjoy historical remains, beautiful nature, art, and much more on the picturesque Visingsö!
Stop by the candy cane town of Gränna on your way there and watch the production of candy canes. Gränna is about 70 kilometers from Hooks Herrgård.
Skullaryd Elk Park
Experience an exciting tractor safari through the realm of moose and deer. Hop on the wagon and take a journey through the moose kingdom that you won't forget anytime soon. The elk park has recently reopened, and deer breeding has been conducted here since 1970. The elk park is unique with the large number of deer that can be experienced up close from our safari wagon while we feed the moose and deer.
Here you will go on an elk and deer safari in our large moose and deer enclosure. Along a winding forest road, you will encounter the king of the forest and deer up close. Our moose are accustomed to tractors and enjoy the safari wagon that enters the elk park at regular intervals during the summer. We can accommodate groups of up to 50 people. To gain a deeper understanding of the 600 kg heavy animals, we will guide you during the approximately 45-minute journey.

Isaberg Mountain Resort
At Isaberg Mountain Resort you have access to activities such as skiing, mountain biking, obstacle courses, high ropes courses, and tobogganing.
At Isaberg there are slopes for everyone, from the easy green runs to the challenging black trails. The children have their own area with two easy slopes and button lifts, located near warming huts and services. Together, Isaberg's slopes provide you with more than 6 km of prepared descents. The vertical drop is 150 meters, which is the highest among all facilities in Southern Sweden.

Here you can cycle mountain bikes on award-winning trails, try the high ropes course and zipline, paddle canoe on Nissan, or play golf with a fantastic view. In Vimmerby, 13 miles from Hooks Herrgård, lies a very special place. It says “Astrid Lindgren's World” on the sign at the entrance, and inside the gates awaits a fairy-tale experience. During the summer, Astrid Lindgren's World collaborates with Hooks Herrgård, and we offer various family packages during this period.
The Film Village
In the Film Village, you can experience filming environments from classic children's movies such as Emil in Lönneberga, Saltkråkan, and Pippi Longstocking. Step into the world of film in an exhibition created in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren. Here you can see classic studio sets and original costumes from the movies, sing along to film music, create your own mobile films, and experience other interactive environments. Additionally, you can take the opportunity to visit any of the 12 filming locations nearby, such as Katthult and Bullerbyn. The Film Village is located in Mariannelund, 11 miles from Hooks Herrgård.
Borås Zoo
Borås Zoo is a green oasis in the middle of Borås that today serves as both a recreational area and one of Sweden's largest and most modern zoos. Here, you will find nearly 600 animals of about 65 species in an exciting nature. From Hooks Herrgård, it is about 11 miles to Borås Zoo.
The Kingdom of Crystal
More than a million visitors travel to The Kingdom of Crystal each year. Many return again and again. It's easy to understand why. Watching the glowing molten glass transform into fragile crystal or robust bowls is a spectacle you never tire of. But even outside the warmth of the glassworks, there is much to experience. Here you will find both cultural history, plenty of nature experiences, and a wide range of shopping and other activities. Why not fish in one of the many lakes, cycle a draisine on one of the old railways, or take a course to learn the basics of glassblowing yourself?
